About

COMPANY BACKGROUND

The business operates under the DropTine name, which you may recognize from DopTine Auto, our other operation. The owner, Jake Staton, is a diesel mechanic and hydraulics specialist by trade. That background matters in land clearing work because the equipment we rely on mulchers, excavators, dump trailers demands mechanical knowledge just as much as it demands operational experience. When something needs attention in the field, we understand our equipment and can keep things moving.

DropTine Land Clearing and Excavation opened in late 2024. Jake and his operator together bring over 10 years of hands-on experience clearing brush and managing land in this part of Texas. The business was started with a clear goal: build something that works, deliver honest service, and grow it the right way.

HOW WE WORK

We take on residential and commercial land clearing jobs across a broad area of Central and West Texas, including the Brownwood, Brady, Abilene, San Angelo, Midland, and Austin-area markets. We do not have a minimum acreage requirement, but we do have a two-day minimum billing structure. Land clearing requires moving and operating heavy equipment, and that has a real cost regardless of how quickly a particular job gets done. We’re upfront about that from the start.

Every job starts with a free estimate. We want you to have a clear picture of what the work involves and what it will cost before you commit to anything. If we’re a fit for the job, we’ll tell you. If something on your property is outside the scope of what we handle, we’ll tell you that too.

OUR APPROACH

We don’t oversell what we do. Land clearing is physical, equipment-intensive work, and what you’re paying for is experience, dependable machinery, and a crew that shows up and gets it done. We serve both residential landowners and commercial clients, and we treat every property with the same level of care.

Our operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’re based in Early, Texas, and we serve customers within roughly 150 miles of our location. If you’ve got land that needs clearing and you’re in or around Central Texas, we’d be glad to talk through what’s needed.
